I recently heard that Mr. Collins claimed to my daughter that him and Charlotte were made for one another. This statement disgusts me. Both Collins and Charlotte are desperate for a partner. After my Lizzy denied Collins' marriage proposal, he proposed to Charlotte. Being that Charlotte has no other options, she accepted. This whole situation disgusts me. How at all were they made for one another?
I feel the same way, mother. I am happy for Charlotte and Collins, but only if they truely mean their love. Charlotte was my bestfriend so I wish nothing but the best, but sometimes I feel her intentions aren't on the right track. She is not much of a bestfriend anymore, but life is life. Thank you for being there for me.
ReplyDeleteI think that it should not matter. I know that this angers you because you feel that Elizabeth should be the rightful wife of Collins, but we all know that she would not ever accept Collins' hand in marriage. Charlotte is nothing but a second choice, or a "plan b" for Collins. Let the couple be happy. They may not be right for one another, but neither are he and Lizzy.
